New Construction

Location: Deer Park, NY

Project Specifications:

  • Total Square Footage: 805,000
  • Construction Budget: $180,000,000

Aurora Contractors, Inc. entered into an agreement with Tanger Factory Outlet Centers and the Blumenfeld Development Group to act as the Construction Manager for their new venture, The Arches at Deer Park, located on Commack Road and Grand Boulevard in Deer Park, New York. The project, with a construction budget in excess of $180,000,000 is the largest outlet center on Long Island. The 82-acre site is comprised of 805,000 square feet of retail space in a European-inspired open courtyard setting.

The Arches at Deer Park consists of seventeen separate buildings, several fountains, a 16 screen multiplex cinema, an ice skating rink, cast stone benches and surrounded by superb, stunning landscaping throughout the center. The LEED Certified center has various unique design elements, such as Venetian plaster, covered walkways with color kinetics and clay tile on the roofs.

Ancillary development included the demolition of 500,000 square feet of government buildings and their related systems. In order to reduce the amount of construction traffic on the local roads, Aurora arranged for a rail car to export the debris that resulted from the demolition of the existing building.
