Aurora Contractors was awarded the Construction Management agreement to work as
the Owner’s agent and construct The Riverhead Centre for The Related Companies.
The center consists of four pad sites, as well as two large buildings, totaling
approximately 300,000 square feet of space.
Aurora was responsible for the coordination and construction of the core and shell
along with tenant coordination, tenant improvements, 56-acre site improvements (including
public roadwork on Route 58), new traffic patterns and controls.
Aurora was responsible for preparing budgets prior to the completion of a full set
of construction drawings and the coordination of over twelve national retail tenant’s
owner-supplied items. Despite these issues and an extremely difficult winter, Aurora
completed ahead of schedule, below budget and all tenants opened on time.
