Aurora Contractors recently entered into a contract to act as the Design/Build Contractor
for the construction of a new 140,000 SF FedEx Ground facility if Long Island City,
New York. The scope of work for this project includes restoration of the existing
waterfront, installation of new outfalls and off-site remediation and road work.
Asbestos abatement and demolition of the 350,000 SF of existing buildings on-site
is currently ongoing. The project is expected to complete in March 2013.
Aurora has also been contracted by the developer of the FedEx project, SunCap Property
Group, to construct an off-site parking facility for use by the employees of the
new FedEx Ground facility.
