Aurora was the Construction Manager for IKEA’s largest construction endeavor in
the United States. The project involved the construction of a new retail store

main building with 350,000 square feet of retail space with one story of parking
below the building, and an elevated and attached truck loading dock with below
grade and on-grade parking.
The ancillary developments included demolishing numerous existing buildings and their related systems, decommissioning and filling in an existing dry dock, performing off-site road work, removal and restoration of the piers and bulk heading that border the project site, restoring and relocating the existing gantry cranes, providing a ferry/water taxi dock to service the site and providing a waterfront esplanade.
