Aurora Contractors recently began construction of the new Life Sciences Building,
located on the Nassau Community College campus. The project is scheduled to complete
in 20 months.
The project, with a budget of $40 million consists of the construction of a new
three-story, 75,000 square foot science building, which will house science laboratories,
classrooms, offices, and lecture halls. A 1,500 LF trench will be excavated for
the new process water connections from the new building to the existing campus physical
plant.
Communication and coordination will be of utmost importance on this project, as
the construction will be taking place on an active campus and the project team will
need to maintain access to the area for students, faculty and county run transportation
services.
