September 2009 – Aurora Contractors, Inc. has been awarded the general contracting contract for the rehabilitation of a 120,000 SF, four-story building on the Creedmoor campus. The building, constructed circa 1925, is intended to be used for transitional living space for discharge ready patients.
The Creedmoor project is sponsored by three not-for-profit agencies and financed by the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH). The scope of work for the project includes asbestos abatement, demolition and brick restoration.
Once complete, the building will contain 157 studio-like apartments with administrative offices and onsite support services, such as a commercial kitchen, vocational training rooms, activity rooms and a dining room.
The project is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2009.
